Chattooga Section IV

Chattooga Section IV

Chattooga River, Section IV

Raft the best section of whitewater rafting in South Carolina!  Section IV of the Chattooga begins where the Wildwater Section III trip ends.  This run covers the steepest section of river currently being run on a commercial basis in the Southeast.  In a 1/4 mile gorge, the river drops more than 75 feet through the famed Five Falls: Entrance, Corkscrew, Crack-In-the-Rock, Jawbone, and Sock’em Dog.  Recommended for Guests with previous rafting experience, Section IV can be the ultimate challenge for whitewater paddlers.  On Section IV trips there is a skilled guide in each raft. Come enjoy this crown jewel of the southeast, an easy day trip from Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville and Greenville.  Combine both Section III, Section IV and overnight camping for the ultimate trip, the Chattooga Overnighter.

*All Chattooga trips require that guests hike into and out of the 1/4 mile protected corridor.  Guests should consider the strenuous nature of the trip and expect to assist in carrying equipment.
