For rafting in South Carolina, Section III of the Chattooga River is the perfect trip for novices and family groups. Most of the rapids on this section are Class II and III, gradually increasing in difficulty as the trip progresses. Bull Sluice is the highlight of the trip. Dropping 14 feet over a series of two drops, this challenging rapid provides a resounding introduction to the technical rapids downstream. This is a fully guided trip. It is a short trip from from Atlanta, GA, Charlotte, NC, Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC to enjoy the Chattooga River, know as the crown jewel of southeastern rivers.
*All Chattooga trips require that guests hike into and out of the 1/4 mile protected corridor. Guests should consider the strenuous nature of the trip and expect to assist in carrying equipment. Combine both Section III, Section IV and overnight camping for the ultimate trip, the Chattooga Overnighter.
