Chattooga Under The Stars

Wildwater Chattooga Overnight rafting & campingWildwater Overnighters offer a must do trip for those wanting the ultimate Chattooga Experience.

2-day Overnighter–  Conveniently located in Upstate South Carolina, the Chattooga River and the Wildwater Overnighter trip is an easy drive from Asheville, NC, Greenville, SC, Charlotte, NC and Atlanta, GA.  If you only have 2 days, this is one of the greatest adventures available in the Southeast!  Whitewater rafting, hiking, camping & terrific camp meals are all included (no alcohol included, but you can provide your own).  All you need to bring is a sleeping bag, pillow, personal items and a sense of adventure!

The first day, on Section III, will be slower paced and afford plenty of opportunities for relaxing and swimming.  A make your own sandwich buffet will be served riverside.  At the end of Section III, your personal gear will be waiting at your campsite.  Guests are encouraged to swim, hike or fish (SC or GA fishing license required) after camp is set.  A full steak dinner with all the trimmings will be prepared at camp.

After a bacon and eggs for breakfast the next morning, camp is struck and your personal gear packed for transportation back to the Wildwater Chattooga Ridge Adventure Center.  You then meet on the beach with other Guests taking the Section IV trip with Wildwater.  Be prepared to experience the steepest section of river currently being run on a regular commercial basis in the Southeast.  This trip is more challenging than the first day, but there are still opportunities to relax and stretch your legs.  A rest stop at Long Creek Falls, a 60 ft. high waterfall, lunch, swimming at Possum Creek are all included; a leisurely boat tow across Lake Tugaloo to the take-out ends your 2-day journey.

1-day Overnighter*– Don’t have time for a full 2-day overnight trip or have younger members in your group?  You can now raft Section III and overnight camp without rafting Section IV!  And, you can add another Wildwater adventure the 2nd day, a canopy tour, lake kayak tour or SUP tour.  This is a great opportunity for 3 generations to get outdoors together!  *Includes same meals as 2-day Overnighter except lunch on day 2.

Facilities:   Changing rooms and shower for before day one and after day two, river store, picnic area, horseshoes, volleyball, free Wi-Fi.  Lodging for the night before or the night after is available; deluxe cabin, group yurts, rental cottages.  Also available at Wildwater Chattooga are Chattooga Ridge Canopy Tours.
