When looking for the best rafting in Western North Carolina, look no further than the eight miles of constant waves and swift, clear currents of the Nantahala River. A delight for families and groups interested in an exhilarating introduction to whitewater rafting, the Nantahala is one of the most exhilarating! The trip takes over 3 hours and contains numerous class I and II rapids, with a class III at the end. Families, groups and individuals will enjoy this 3-4 hour trip. Fully guided, a guide in every raft.
Facilities: Wildwater has clean changing rooms and hot showers for our Guests’ convenience stocked with soap and hair dryers! We do ask that you bring your own towel, but if you forget, check out our river store! Our river store is supplied with everything you might need for your river trip, sunscreen, river shoes, sunglasses and t-shirts for your adventure. Most of our Adventure Centers have free Wi-Fi for your convenience away from home. Wildwater Nantahala also has picnic tables for Guest use. Bring a lunch for a picnic before or after your trip!
Minimum Age: 7 yrs. old or 60 lbs.
Intensity Level: Mild to moderate. No experience needed for Guided Trips. Previous whitewater paddling experience recommended for Rentals.
