Wildwater Ocoee welcomes Bert Elliott!
Bert is from Southside Alabama. He attended Gadsden State Community College from 2002- 2004 on a baseball scholarship as a pitcher. Bert then transferred to Troy University on a baseball scholarship and earned his BS in Social Sciences in 2007. After graduating college, Bert taught World History and coached baseball at Gadsden City High School for a year before returning to Troy to work and earn his Masters in Sport and Fitness Management. While in grad school, Bert was introduced to whitewater and kayaking – a life changing hobby that led him to an internship on the Ocoee.
Bert was rescued from his freshman year on the Ocoee by Wildwater cover girl and Ocoee Trip Leader Maria Villegas, leading him to Wildwater and the Wildwater Way.
Bert has been on the Ocoee for 5 seasons as a guide and Trip Leader, and joins the Wildwater management team as Wildwater Ocoee’s Assistant Manager for the 2013 season.
