It is summertime and we are cranking! We love the summer when we get to share our love of the outdoors to our Guests and get to meet people from all over the country. Although rafting and zipline/canopy tours are our most popular activities, there are many other adventures to try out!
The Chattooga, our home base and the first location to open in 1971, was made famous by the movie “Deliverance”. With Wildwater you can test your skills at whitewater kayaking, or for the more timid paddler, kayaking on Lake Tugaloo. If you have ever wanted to try stand up paddleboarding, but were afraid, this is the perfect place to test your balance skills, the water is smooth with little motorboat traffic! Lots of fun, and an activity that everyone can master. There are also many waterfalls in the Long Creek area and a beautiful mountain overlook at Chattooga Belle Farm minutes from our rafting center. If you are into camping, check out the nice creekside sites at the Chattooga River Resort.
If you have rafted many rivers and are looking for that next whitewater challenge, try renting a single or double duckie at the Nantahala (I do suggest single duckies if you are going with a spouse and want to stay married!). If you aren’t up for the duckie challenge, Wildwater also rents rafts. The Nantahala Gorge area has lots to offer with hiking trails including the Appalachian trail, waterfalls, boating on Lake Fontana and mountain biking at North Carolina’s famous Tsali Recreation Area. Bring your hiking boots, river sandals and mountain bikes for a great adventure!
Step out of your comfort zone and try something new!
