Hey Guys, meet Tim, the Storyteller on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad. As we were talking this morning while people were boarding for our Tarzan Train adventure, one of the riders asked Tim what the train ride was like?
“Well, it’s like a real slow zipline.”
The train is a slow ride giving you the opportunity to relax and see a side of Bryson City and the Nantahala Gorge that you can only see from the train.
Combine this amazing train ride with the Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tour and you get the Tarzan Train. Riders from the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad take the train from Bryson City, NC to the top of the Nantahala Gorge. While riding the train it is possible to see zipliners along the ridge across Fontana Lake.
At the upper train stop a delicious lunch is served for the passengers who will be participating in a canopy tour with Nantahala Gorge Canopy Tours and Wildwater. After lunch, a Wildwater bus will transport everyone to their canopy tour. Once on the canopy tour it is possible to see the Train pass on the other side of Fontana Lake and a beautiful waterfall while on our highest zipline tower! Once completed we transport you back to your car at the train depot. Only on the Tarzan Train can you truly see all the Nantahala Gorge has to offer!
Tim is apart of the “Psalms of the South” Preservation Society Ltd and works for The Storytelling Center.
