On Monday, September 16, 2013, the Wildwater family experienced the devastating loss of longtime employee and friend Kasi Glover. Kasi started working for Wildwater as a raft guide on the Nantahala River 18 years ago. She soon moved to the Chattooga River to work, and eventually assumed the role of accountant for Wildwater.
It is hard to write even a brief description of who Kasi was without memories and emotions flooding my mind and heart. For those who knew her, Kasi was much more than a guide or accountant. She was a close friend, and often, a confidant. When I first met Kasi on a rafting trip at the age of 11, little did I know that this fun, confident raft guide would become a person that I respected and cared for so deeply. I believe this is how many of our friendships with Kasi began; before you knew it, you were simply captivated by her personality and her compassion for others.
Kasi is survived by her husband, Todd Lankford and children, Addie and Jacob Lankford.
The family has requested donations to an education fund for Addie and Jacob instead of flowers. Donations can be made out to Todd Lankford, clearly marked “Addie and Jacob Education Fund”, and can be sent to:
