Yurts
Wildwater’s Falling Waters Yurt Village contains 8 yurts scattered across 22 acres in the scenic mountains of Western North Carolina. Relax to the sound of running water on the waterfall deck, enjoy the outdoor seating looking over the pond, and gather around the picnic tables, where you can plan your next adventure.
Wildwater opened the Yurt Village in 1998 as a unique amenity in the Nantahala Gorge. Historically the traditional home of Mongolian Nomads, yurts have become the structure of choice for “glamping” and ours include a domed skylight to watch the stars, a fully furnished queen sized bed and futon. The yurts are made from a heavy duty canvas shell, supported by exposed framing and each yurt has a private deck where you can take in views of the Nantahala National Forest and Lake Fontana below. Shared but private showers and restrooms are available in a separate building adjacent to your Yurt. Bring a flashlight for walking around after dark on the trails and steps.
Check-in & Check-out: Check-in is 3pm & check-out is 10:30am. We request that you check out before going out on your days adventures so we can clean for the next Guests. Keys are located in a mailbox at Wildwater Nantahala across Highway 19 at the Rafting Center.
Facilities: Each Wildwater Yurt offers a queen sized bed and a double futon, linens, pillows and towels. Each Yurt has a coffee maker with a coffee packet, small refrigerator and CD player, and is surrounded by a spacious deck. The bath house, with 4 individual, lockable bathrooms, has a shower, toilet and sink, and is within walking distance of each yurt. Shared charcoal grills are available for use during your stay. Enjoy the giant Jenga and Connect 4 games as well as horseshoes.
Smoking and pets are NOT allowed- there is a fee for non-compliance.
