“Over the years, I have developed a love for both American Sign Language and whitewater, and to combine the two is truly an amazing feeling. Effective communication is important, especially on the river. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to share my love for the water with others, including the deaf. Everyone is welcome here at Wildwater on the Nantahala River!” -Nicole Knipp
Nicole Knipp is a second year Wildwater Nantahala raft guide. She went to school at Marshall University and graduated with a degree in American Sign Language (ASL). We love being able to utilize her special skills when taking hearing-impaired guests down the Nantahala River!
