If you are confident with your paddling skills and want to go at your own pace, a rental trip may be just right. We provide: an orientation, equipment, shuttle to and from Nantahala River and use of our facilities. You are on your own on the river; just you and your friends. We have 1 and 2 person inflatable kayaks as well as 4 and 6 person rafts, available seven days a week in season. Wildwater provides all the gear, you provide the adventure and know-how. For inflatable kayaks it is recommended you consider renting a wetsuit.
Previous whitewater experience is highly recommended. Please check for availability.
Facilities: Changing rooms and hot showers, river store, free Wi-Fi and picnic pavilion. With a gorgeous view of the Smoky Mountains, our Nantahala Adventure Center has an inviting environment. Our large decks and pavilion provide a great place to picnic with your family or large group before or after your trip. Clean bathrooms and changing rooms with warm showers are available for use as well. Before you leave us, don’t forget to grab a t-shirt or trinket out of our souvenir shop!
Minimum Weight: 70 lbs. or 7 yrs. old
Intensity Level: Mild to moderate. Previous whitewater paddling and steering experience recommended.
Trip Length: Approximately 3 1/2 hours (2 hours on the river)
